Extended School

An Extended School Consortium is a ‘cluster’ of schools in an area and includes nursery schools, infant and junior schools, primary and secondary schools, and special schools.

The Extended School Consortium is designed to meet the diverse needs of parents and children attending the schools in that area through the provision of a wide range of activities, events and training opportunities : access to quality childcare, a varied menu of activities for children, support for parents and families, swift and easy referral to specialised support services, and community access to school facilities and adult learning.

These are linked directly to Every Child Matters and draw on the knowledge and expertise of a wide range of professionals from different agencies and services.  You can find out more about Every Child Matters by clicking on the weblink below :

Meadow Wood is a member of the Bushey, Aldenham and Radlett Extended School Consortium.  You can find out more about what is happening in this area by clicking on the Hertfordshire Extended Schools weblink below and then clicking on the Find My Consortium tab.  Meadow Wood is located in Hertsmere.

Many children attending Meadow Wood live, of course, in other districts in the east, south and west of Hertfordshire.  You can also find out about information, support and activities in your area by going to the same web page and tab and locating the district where you live.
