Education, Health & Social Care

The world of special educational needs is a complex one.  Prior to attending Meadow Wood your child will receive a Statement of Special Educational Needs which names the school as an appropriate setting to meet your child's particular needs.  Your child's Special Educational Needs Officer plays an important part in producing this document and will continue to have a key role in working with you during your child's time at Meadow Wood.

In addition to your child's class team - Class Teacher and Learning Support and Care Assistants - you will get to know a number of different professionals during your child's time at Meadow Wood.  These include physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and educational psychologists.  These services are not managed directly by the school but are provided by the National Health Service (NHS) or by the Local Authority (LA) : physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and langauge therapy are provided by the NHS; while educational psychology is provided by the Hertfordshire County Council.
